San Francisco Bay Area – WaterSystems, the Bay Area’s leading provider of Dual Clean, compliance-first maintenance for mission-critical systems, is proud to announce the addition of Ed Sawicki, a global leader in safety engineering and environmental compliance, to its leadership team as Fractional Chief Safety Officer & Strategic Advisor.
With a career spanning over four decades, Ed brings unparalleled expertise in safety, health, and environmental management within the semiconductor industry. He began his groundbreaking work at Intel Corporation, where he rose from the company’s first Safety Engineer to Director of Safety and Health Worldwide. During his tenure, he spearheaded the development of emergency response teams, toxic gas monitoring systems, and hazardous materials programs that became industry standards.
Recognizing the urgent need for collaboration in an industry under scrutiny, Ed co-founded the Semiconductor Safety Association (SSA), serving as Chairman of the Board for 26 years, and played a pivotal role in establishing the Bay Area Safety Group. His leadership helped shape international best practices and elevated industry-wide compliance and safety programs. In 2007, he was awarded the SESHA Lifetime Achievement Award for his lasting contributions.
Beyond his corporate and organizational leadership, Ed has lectured at Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, and universities worldwide, while also advising governments in Germany, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines on safety, hazardous materials, and environmental law.
“Ed’s unmatched expertise and legacy in compliance and safety will further strengthen WaterSystems’s mission to be the Bay Area’s most trusted partner for critical facility maintenance,” said Naila Zaman, COO of WaterSystems. “Our clients can feel confident knowing that leaders like Ed are behind the programs that keep their systems safe, compliant, and audit-ready.”
Ed joins WaterSystems at a pivotal moment as the company expands its services across data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, biotech, and large commercial facilities. His appointment reinforces WaterSystems’s position as the go-to vendor for Dual Clean, compliant maintenance of cooling towers, fume scrubbers, and other mission-critical infrastructure.
